Since its establishment in 2016, French-Azerbaijani University has been aiming to take a leading role in the building of a highly motivated and skilled generation in Azerbaijan that is fully equipped to face the challenges of the contemporary business world and serve the society in which they live. As a part of its noble mission, UFAZ has been holding numerous informative events to assist the students. 

On January 29, 2021, as a leading university on applied sciences in Azerbaijan, French-Azerbaijani University held a new event on career development, entitled “Choose Your Profession”. The event took place online and provided students with an opportunity to meet career professionals and supervisors. Besides UFAZ students, the event was also open to the public.

The event started with the introductory speech from UFAZ Director Vazeh Askarov, Secretary General Elizaveta Bydanova and Head of Education Department Latifa Nasibova. Welcoming the participants, UFAZ Management highlighted the significance of the event for those who are new on their career path. They also described the agenda of the event for the guests.

“Choose Your Profession” Career Fair was held simultaneously for 4 different specialties of UFAZ: Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering and Geophysical Engineering. About 150 students participated in the event across all specialities. Highly-skilled professionals, from various local and global companies, namely Jocap, BP, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Socar, Pashabank, Azercosmos, and etc., shared their work experiences and exchanged ideas with students. 

Each session wrapped up with the question and answer session. Students had a chance to ask about job opportunities, internship and summer programs in the companies, as well as field-related questions.
