UFAZ students won the 2nd place at PASHA Hackathon
“Insurize” team of second-year Computer Science students of French-Azerbaijani University Elgun Hasanov and Fatulla Bashirov won the 2nd place at PASHA Hackathon organized by PASHA Holding and PASHA Life.
Students share their impressions with us:
Elgun Hasanov: "I'm so grateful that our team won the 2nd place among 179 participants out of 656 applicants from 11 countries in the Hackathon. I was the team leader and it was a great honor for me to work together. I thank all my teammates for not giving up and creating a good working spirit. I'm very proud of them. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. During these two days we worked intensively to find a newer approach for the increasing penetration of life insurance products (mainly risk) for specific segments. Our project was "Insurize", which radically changed the attitude to life insurance, making it available and sagacious to almost everyone. The jury members and investors were interested in the idea and concept of our project, which served as our victory. I would like to note that we are the only team from Azerbaijan that got into the top 3 winners. I would also thank the organizers for such a highly organized event, responsiveness, and care during the hackathon. Special thanks to the management of UFAZ, for the constant assistance provided related to the place of work for the team and any other needs!"
Fatulla Bashirov: "First I would like to thank all the guys from my team, great job. I was in the position of a Co-founder and Data Scientist that helped to keep accurate calculations in the process of underwriting, which is the process of defining the classification of stakeholders based on several criterias. In fact, winning hackathons is always difficult, it is the result of a long brainstorming process, the correct processing of all feedback received from mentors, lingering research, and hard work during sleepless nights. I also want to thank all the organizers, mentors and jury members for a highly organized event by them."
