UFAZ students took part in the quarter-final round of first Spring Programming Olympiad

On March 9, 2019 UFAZ students (mainly from Computer Science specialty) took part in the quarter-final round of first Spring Programming Olympiad organized at UFAZ by UFAZ Professor of Computer Science Nuraddin Sadili with the support of  Loïc Cellier and Rabih Amhaz UFAZ Professors of Mathematics and Computer Science.

The students were given 8 problems to solve in 3 hours.

In general 25 of the 42 participants have successfully passed to the semi-final rounds of UFAZ Spring Programming Olympiad which will be organized in the upcoming weeks. 

UFAZ Professors organize such competitions on their own initiatives in order to promote and develop amongst students scientific thinking and creative approach to IT challenges.

In April, UFAZ students will also participate to the “Republican Olympiad in Informatics”.

The Olympiad is jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Education and the Institute of Information Technologies of National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS). The purpose of the Olympiad is raising the level of knowledge of students of higher educational institutions in the field of computer science, programming, their growing interest in this area, as well as involvement of winners in the international Olympiads.
