UFAZ students shared their impressions about Schlumberger summer camp in Aktau, Kazakhstan

2018-09-21

World’s largest oilfield services company – Schlumberger has admitted UFAZ second-year students to their Summer Camp for their exceptional results at the assessment exam.

In July 2018, UFAZ second-year student Tofig Nazarbayovfrom Geophysical Engineering and Javid Rzayev from Oil&Gas Engineering were offered a unique opportunity to participate in the Schlumberger Summer Camp in Kazakhstan.

Student Summer Camp is an intensive one week program designed to introduce students considering a career in the oil and industry to Schlumberger. During the week students are provided accommodation and given possibility to learn about Schlumberger through series of information sessions and workshop exercises.

Sharing his impressions about the internship, Tofig Nazarbayov said that the students were taken to the Aktau Mega base, which is considered to be the biggest in the CIS countries after the one in Russia.Every day we watched different segments such as Drilling and Management, for example and met personally with every segment manager. We also went twice to dinners with our management. In our free time, we had all the necessary facilities to play sport games. On one of the days, our managers organized the “What? Where? When?” game tournament among the interns. I hope Javid and me could do our best in order to expose ourselves on the field and show what we have already learned at UFAZ. I also wish that we could concentrate more on our major fields of study in UFAZ, which will definitely help with our future internships and work.”
