On December 7, 3rd edition of CTF.az Competition was held to identify and highlight the most promising information security specialists in the country. As part of the competition, cybersecurity teams from all over the country tested their strengths on online tasks related to web (exploitation of web applications), crypto, pwn (exploitation of binary applications), reverse engineering and misc (other tasks).
The top three teams that scored the most points were announced at the CTF final award ceremony, held on December 14 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The event served as a meeting point for exchanging ideas and obtaining the most reliable information about market development and technologies in areas related to information protection.
Sanan Najafov, the team leader shared his warmest feedback with us:
“We first heard about the CTF.az event a year ago. We didn’t have any cybersecurity experience at the time, but still decided to try our best. The competition turned out to be our starting point both in the field and in the world of cybersecurity competitions known as CTF (Capture The Flag). We did not achieve any significant results, but learned a lot and were willing to learn even more. We found out that there are many CTFs being held online all year long. During the year we improved our knowledge and skills both by learning ourselves and by participating in worldwide CTF competitions. We were looking forward to this year's CTF.az competition as a way to test ourselves once again and to see how much we have improved.
We are happy and proud of the achievement! It was a great experience to participate and win in such an event! We are even more motivated and will keep the hard work to become better in the future.”
We congratulate our students on their achievements and wish many more success to come!
