Today, on February 14, Nexus team of UFAZ, the winner of ActInSpace 2022 Azerbaijan hackathon, is participating in the AIS international finals in Cannes, France. AIS Azerbaijan finalists Omar Nuruzada, Emin Khalifayev, Gular Ismayilova, Sanan Chaharkama and Araz Shafiyev work on a project aimed at decreasing the aircraft emissions by 50% to reduce the impact on climate change. 

The UFAZ team also won the special prize offered by the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) before the finals. The EUSPA prize calls on tomorrow’s innovators to develop products/ services that can support an energy transition to renewable energy sources or improve energy efficiency and conservation. 

Organized by the French National Center for Space Research (CNES) and the European Space Agency (ESA), ActInSpace is an international hackathon for the use of space technologies for society. The competition is held every two years.
