Petroleum Experts Limited Petex House donated free licences of the software MOVE and other specialised softwares (2D Kinematic Modelling, 3D Kinematic Modelling, Geomechanical Modelling, Fracture Modelling, Fault Response Modelling, Fault Analysis, Stress Analysis, Move Link Petel, Move Link OpenWorks, Move Link GST) to French-Azerbaijani University, which stand for the equivalent of 5,779,977.85 pounds within the agreement concluded with Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. Duration of the donation is one year, and can be prolonged upon request.

Within the MSc. of Geosciences, French-Azerbaijani University places a strong emphasis on analytical reasoning in all its courses, initiates students to finite element modeling of Earth science processes, and give them hands-on experience with geophysical and geological fieldwork and their corresponding data processing and analysis methods.

As no field in Geosciences can be understood alone, UFAZ guides students to integrate all the knowledge and skills they acquire and apply them to analyze and solve practical Geoscience problems in a project-oriented framework. Our aim is to train well-rounded Geoscientists and Geophysicists with strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. 

Software, in this regard, will be used in the first-year research project of MSc. of Geosciences to design a high resolution structural map of Yasamal Valley. 

MOVE is a professional software for structural geology related tasks. It suits the purpose of structural mapping of Yasamal Valley. It can also be used for structural analysis of DOMs. It is a fairly intuitive and user friendly toolkit for the limited set of activities to be involved. However, other modules such as  3D Kinematic Modelling and etc.., require not only training support but also in depth knowledge of the subject (Structural Geology). The software package thus comes with tutorials and training datasets which students will be practiced at.
