On September 21, the 1st Francophone Scientific Week, organized by the Francophone Universities Agency (AUF), kicked off in Bucharest, Romania. The event, held at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, is held in hybrid form, both face-to-face and online. 

UFAZ Director Vazeh Askarov represented Azerbaijan at the online event. 

Several events took place in the frame of this conference, including 18th General Meeting of the Francophone Universities Agency that is organized in every 4 years, 1st Francophone Scientific Week, presentation of official documents of Scientific Francophone event, as well as AUF's new strategy for 2021-2025 and adoption of the document regarding the organization's 60th anniversary celebration. 

On September 22, 5th Conference of the Ministers of Education in AUF member countries will also take place.

Francophone University Agency (AUF) which brings together 1007 universities, colleges, university networks and scientific research centers from 119 countries. Founded in 1961 in Montreal, Canada, Francophone University Agency is one of the largest associations of higher education and research institutions that use French as instruction language. 

Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, as well as French-Azerbaijani University became a full member of the organization since 2019.
