On September 6, 2019, UFAZ welcomed for Orientation Day the cohort of newly admitted students for the academic year 2019 / 2020.

139 first-year students, amongst whom 83 from Azerbaijani sector and 56 from Russian sector, gathered in the Big Conference Hall to get acquainted with the University administration and faculty members.

UFAZ Director Vazeh Asgarov, Secretary-General Charlotte Payen and the Head of the Education Department Latifa Nasibova congratulated the 139 new students with their admission to UFAZ and the beginning of the new academic year.

Students also had the opportunity to meet their language and science instructors to know more about the subjects that will be taught during the Foundation Year at UFAZ.

Foundation Year at UFAZ is indeed quite specific, since it is designed to gap the methodical and pedagogical differences existing between High School studies in Azerbaijan, and Higher Education studies in France.

The English and Scientific Faculty members introduced themselves to students and talked about the yearly curriculum.

Event continued with Education Department, IT and PR department’s introduction to their activities at UFAZ.

Students received comprehensive information on academic rules and services, exams, student code of conduct, and last but not least, extracurricular activities.

UFAZ management wishes to all its new students a fruitful year full of new discoveries, practical knowledge and also, of course, much enjoyment in their student life! Bon courage à tous!

Admitted students will be studying in the following specialties: Geophysical-Geoscience Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Sciences and Oil and Gas Engineering. All the students will receive two students  cards (ASOIU and University of Strasbourg), and individual laptops which will facilitate their education at UFAZ and serve them throughout their time at the University.
