UFAZ organized bachelor admission exam for the academic year 2021/2022

On August 18, 2021, French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) successfully organized its bachelor admission exam for the academic year of 2021-2022.

The exam was organized in accordance with the instructions by Ministry of Education and the rules of the special quarantine regime following necessary preventive measures such as social distancing and hygiene. Following the rules of the pandemic, the temperature of those entering the exam building was checked. Disinfectants were installed in all examination rooms. Candidates were required to wear a mask in the building, including the exam rooms.

For its 6th edition of bachelor’s degree Program 330 applicants, gained more than 500 points (on 700 points) during State Examination, organized by the State Examination Center (SEC) in group 1, were confirmed to participate the examination stage (260 from Azerbaijani section and 70 from Russian section). 294 of 330 applicants attended the UFAZ admission exam. Each academic year UFAZ offers 160 places overall - 120 on governmental basis and 40 on paying.

Exam lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes and covered questions on the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, General scientific knowledge, and English language. Depending on their admission results during UFAZ exam, 160 students will be offered governmental or paying basis places at UFAZ. As the education at university is conducted in English language, one more requirement from applicants is to obtain minimum of 8 points (out of 20) from English language.

15 rooms at UFAZ main building were allocated for the exam (13 for Azerbaijani section, 2 for Russian section). In total, 39 exam invigilators and more than 20 employees were involved in the examination process. Medical staff was also provided in the examination building.

Exam results will be announced on August 20. Appeal of results will take place on August 21, 2021. The confirmed list of students, who successfully passed UFAZ admission exam, will be provided to the Ministry of Education (MoE). MoE, in its turn, will provide the list to the SEC and those students confirmed the UFAZ admission offer will not be able to apply to other higher education institutions. Students who do not pass UFAZ entrance exam will have the possibility to apply to ASOIU or any other higher educational institutions in Azerbaijan.  

To recall, depending on their admission results during UFAZ exam, 160 students will be offered governmental or paying basis places at UFAZ. UFAZ offers 4 specialties within its Bachelor Program that include Chemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering, Geological and Geophysical Engineering, and Computer Science.

UFAZ students receive two national diplomas (French and Azerbaijani) upon graduation – one by the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and another by University of Strasbourg or University of Rennes 1 (depending on their specialty).
