UFAZ Math teacher Ulviya Abdulkarimova
We are proud to announce that UFAZ Math teacher Ulviya Abdulkarimova, with her article “A genetic algorithm (GA) for non-uniform sampling harmonic analysis”, received an opportunity to participate at the Gecco World Conference 2020.
The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO) presents the latest high-quality results in genetic and evolutionary computation since 1999. Topics include: genetic algorithms, genetic programming, ant colony optimization and swarm intelligence, complex systems (artificial life/robotics/evolvable hardware/generative and developmental systems/artificial immune systems), digital entertainment technologies and arts, evolutionary combinatorial optimization and metaheuristics, evolutionary machine learning, evolutionary multi-objective optimization, evolutionary numerical optimization, real world applications, search-based software engineering, theory and more.
The paper describes a real valued genetic algorithm (GA) to model a large noisy periodic signal. The proposed method does not rely on a mathematical approach, but on artificial evolution to directly find the sines that compose a signal. The GA outperforms the Fourier Transform (FT) method, which is the standard method used in harmonic analysis of a discrete signal.
UFAZ Team congratulates Mrs. Abdulkarimova on her achievements and wish for many more successes to come!
