On January 15, 2020, on behalf of the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), the University of Strasbourg (Unistra) and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) concluded two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Total E&P Absheron and PASHA Bank.

Both these MoUs seek to enhance collaboration with UFAZ to support educational and joint scientific projects, strengthening the ties between the academic and business worlds.

The MoU signed with Total E&P Absheron will amongst others enable UFAZ students to benefit from fully funded scholarships for Master studies in France starting from September 2020.

The Embassy of France in Azerbaijan also concluded a bilateral MoU with Total E&P Absheron to support the scholarships offered by TOTAL for UFAZ students.

Amongst others, the Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan, HE Zacharie Gross, ASOIU Rector, Prof. Mustafa Babanli, Unistra President Prof. Michel Deneken, General Manager of Total E&P Absheron, Regis Agut, Chairman of the Executive Board of PASHA Bank OJSC, Taleh Kazimov, UFAZ Coordinator Jean-Marc Planeix attended the signing ceremony.

Opening the event, both ASOIU Rector and Unistra President underlined the significance of the partnership with PASHA Bank and Total E&P Absheron in the further development of students and UFAZ in general.

French Ambassador to Azerbaijan HE Zacharie Gross highlighted the role of UFAZ in the training of a new generation of engineers in strategic industries of Azerbaijan. Ambassador likewise noted that UFAZ personifies the successful cooperation between France and Azerbaijan.

To recall, on July 17, 2019, the Director of Total Education Developments Jean-Claude Heidmann and Coordinator for International Programs Christelle Lavalou from Total's headquarter in France visited UFAZ to discuss how to include UFAZ students in the scholarship program provided by TOTAL for the best students in engineering sector from all over the world.  

Furthermore since 2018 TOTAL has been providing UFAZ with experienced lecturers in the field of Oil and Gas through TOTAL Professeurs Associés. 

Several sessions was designed (February 26 and September 17, 2019) together by PASHA Bank and UFAZ administration in order for the students to diverse their professional orientation and get familiar with one of the professional and industrial spheres active in Azerbaijan.

On September 17, 2019, UFAZ fourth-year Computer Science students had their first visit to PASHA Bank Digital Lab in the frame of UFAZ Career Workshops Series.
