UFAZ hosted “Night of Ideas” event of Azerbaijan-France Alumni Association
On May 26, the French Embassy, the French Institute in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan-France Alumni Association (AAAF) and French-Azerbaijani University(UFAZ) organized an event, entitled, "Night of Ideas" for Azerbaijanis who have completed higher and professional education in France.
President of the Azerbaijan-France Alumni Association Vazeh Askarov is the director of UFAZ and PhD in History at the University of Strasbourg. Welcoming the alumni, he noted that about 600 Azerbaijani are currently alumni of France. French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zakarie Gross called on the alumni to be active in the reconstruction and revival of the Caucasus. Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural action of the Embassy of France Jérôme Kelle encouraged the alumni to join the newly formed association and support the development of more integrated and proactive Azerbaijani-French relations.
7 French-educated professionals shared their experiences and insights on these topics and held discussions with other alumni. The presentations covered various topics: global warming and its impact on the planet and Azerbaijan; circular economy based on the principle of recycling and recycling of processed products; development of clean and interconnected urban transport networks; the role of civil society and international relations in the development and modernization of simple production and consumption methods / countries that respect the protection of environment.
More than 400 Azerbaijani alumni of France were invited to this event. The event also aimed to enable Azerbaijanis who had studied in France to develop a network of contacts in all areas: economy, business, industry and commerce, education, higher education, science and research, culture, sports, arts, civil society, law, environment, human rights, diplomacy, public sector and governance.
About 60 alumni gathered on this occasion.
