On December 16, 2021, an information session on doctoral (PhD) education opportunities at Strasbourg University as well as other French universities was held for UFAZ master’s degree students. 

Head of UFAZ Research Department Prof. Philippe Turek firstly spoke about the opportunities for master's students to do internships in France and in UFAZ and informed students about the number of places allocated for this purpose within the French consortium, as well as the requirements for it. First semester of 2022, UFAZ master students of 3 specialties will have the opportunity to do an internship in France for 5 months.

Philippe Turek then informed the students about the rules and requirements of doctoral studies. Starting from next year, UFAZ graduates may have the opportunity to study in France or Azerbaijan at the full PhD level, as well as an international doctoral program under the joint supervision of UFAZ and Unistra professors.

Currently, two UFAZ laboratory assistants (Narinj Taghiyeva and Leyla Aliyeva) are studying for a joint PhD program at ASOIU and the University of Strasbourg, and one teacher (Fidan Aslanzada) is studying at doctoral degree at the University of Strasbourg. UFAZ math teacher Ulviyya Abdulkarimova successfully defended her PhD thesis at the University of Strasbourg this year.
