On November 5, 2019 UFAZ fourth-year Geoscience Engineering students, together with UFAZ Oil and Gas Coordinator Fidan Aslanzade, visited Baker Hughes, Wireline logging site. Baker Hughes is an energy technology company that provides solutions for energy and industrial customers worldwide.
Baker Hughes Geoscientist Aleksandra Khramtseva, welcomed UFAZ students and provided them with safety instruction before visiting the laboratories.
Students were accompanied on site by Mr Nusret Imamverdiyev, Staff Development Manager, to observe the operational capacity and processing in three laboratories namely, hydraulic laboratory, mechanical laboratory and electricity laboratory. Students received comprehensive information on wire line logging tools that Baker Hughes deliver to its customers, as well as technical solution for rock properties measurement. They were also shown how tools are tested and repaired in those laboratories.
In addition, students also had the opportunity to visit the warehouse for logging sensor, as well as Treatment Unit and Wire line Logging Workshop outside the warehouse.
Such site visits are an important added value to the curriculum of UFAZ specialties, meant to introduce to students the various professional environments available after their graduation.
