On September 17, 2019, French-Azerbaijani University hosted a ceremony, organized by TOTAL S.A, French multinational integrated oil and gas company, on the book presentation of Khoshbakht Yusifzade, first Vice-President of SOCAR, “The Years and the Traces of My Life” published in French language thanks to the support of TOTAL Azerbaijan.

Amongst others, Academician Khoshbakht Yusifzade, first Vice-President of SOCAR, Denis Lemarchal, Total Country Chair in Azerbaijan and Managing Director of Total E&P Absheron, Jeannine Lemarchal, editor of the book “The Years and the Traces of My Life”, Professor Mustafa Babanli, Rector of ASOIU, Tofiq Gahramanov, Vice-President of SOCAR, Alakbar Abbasov, Deputy Vice-President of SOCAR, Professor Akif Alizada, President of ANAS, and representatives of various local and international companies attended the event.

In his opening speech, Mr. Denis Lemarchal, Managing Director of Total Azerbaijan recalled the life and career moments of Khs. Yusifzade and stressed that the academician attaches great importance to his book "Years and traces of my life", especially to its French edition. Noting that his prominence has crossed the borders of Azerbaijan and is recognized worldwide, Mr. Lemarchal also highlighted his contributions to the oil and gas sector of Azerbaijan.

ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli praised this book as “a model for today's youth and students." He also underlined that Khs. Yusifzade, as a former graduate of ASOIU University, maintains a keen interest in the achievements and challenges of his Alma mater university. In his honor, ASOIU actually created a scholarship named after his name. 

The event wrapped up with the author expressing his deepest gratitude to the people who contributed to the publication of the book. Last but not least, thanking ASOIU and UFAZ for hosting the event, Khs. Yusifzade noted that the cooperation between France and Azerbaijan is very dynamic, and that there are about 40 French companies active in Azerbaijan besides Total.
