UFAZ third-year Computer Science students with Thales Azerbaijan Technical Director, Mr. Michael Malinovsky and Baku Metropolitan representative
In the framework of the Thales-Baku Metropolitan-UFAZ tripartite collaboration, on April 10, 2019, 10 of UFAZ third-year Computer Science students had their first field trip at the “Avtovagzal” Metro Station under the direction of Thales Azerbaijan Technical Director, Mr. Michael Malinovsky.
During this session, after a comprehensive presentation delivered by Baku Metropolitan representatives, the students got acquainted with the administrative premises and some of the technical equipment, such as Computer-Based Interlocking, Telecommunication systems, field equipment, etc.
Students had thus the opportunity to experience how the routes of the trains are automatically changed and managed by a dedicated software used to manage all those various operations.
The cooperation between the French-Azerbaijani University, Thales and Baku Metropolitan started with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in May 2018, in the frame of which a special teaching module dedicated to the Automation and Computer Technologies in Transports was created.
This mutually beneficial cooperation between UFAZ and Thales will broaden the educational program of the university and foster new and promising specialties. For Thales, this collaboration contributes to brand awareness and new promising technologies that the company can introduce in Azerbaijan.
