On February 26 2018 the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) under Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held a commemorative event organised by the students.

A moment of silence was first observed for the victims of the mass murder of civilan population in Khojaly. While giving an introductory speech, UFAZ Director and Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov spoke about the history of the Khojaly mass murder that took place 26 years ago. 

Then, UFAZ students presented a program dedicated to the commemoration of the tragedy of Khojaly. UFAZ student Baylar Zarbaliyev gave a comprehensive information in English about Khojaly.

A ten-minute video by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation “Khojaly genocide” was shown to the visitors. UFAZ student Ilkin Safarli spoke about the history of Armenian aggression and performed the song “Sari Gelin” on violin.
