Masuma Suleymanova and Rashid Ahmadli - evening hosts
On May 29 2018 our university was celebrating the very important date of this year - 100th Anniversary since the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. The first democratic republic on the East and also the first in the East to grant voting rights to women. This fact is remarkable, especially considering that at that time, this was not the case for many European countries. During the existence of the first parliamentary republic in the East, the first army, official flag of Azerbaijan and the first University were created in Azerbaijan.
In the beginning of the celebration, UFAZ director Vazeh Asgarov spoke about "The students sent to Europe during the period of existence of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic." He touched upon the destiny of those students who went to study in France and the role some of them played afterwards in the political life of ADR. The non-official part included dances and song performances by the students, including "Gel ey seher" by Aynur, "Azerbaijan" by Ofeliya and Yusif, Azerbaijani national dances "Uzundere" and "Yayliq" by Zara, Cavidan, Ismayil, Puste and Maleyka, Cafar Cabbarli's "poem dedicated to the Flag" by Leyla and "Arazbari" violin performance by Ilkin Safarli.
