On March 19 French-Azerbaijani University celebrated the Novruz holiday together with the ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, ASOIU and UFAZ faculty members.

Opening the event, UFAZ Executive Director, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov said the Novruz holiday has been celebrated by our people for centuries and has many similarities with European Spring holidays (especially such traditions as eggs-painting, jumping over the burning fire etc.)

Rector Mustafa Babanli congratulated everyone on this great holiday and conveyed his best wishes. Noting that Novruz is the most favorite holiday of the Azerbaijani people, Rector Babanli highlighted that this day is also celebrated by our compatriots living in different parts of the world.

UFAZ Secretary-General Charlotte Payen said Novruz is a very special and joyous holiday that reflects customs and traditions of the Azerbaijani people in most colourful and explicit ways. She congratulated everyone on the spring holiday and wished all the guests to stay in good spirits.

The event was then followed by traditional Yalli dance and sweet Novruz fourchette.
