On December 17, 2018, during their visit in Strasbourg for UFAZ 4th Steering Committee, the Azerbaijani delegation, including the Rector of ASOIU Mustafa Babanli, the representatives of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan (Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff) and UFAZ administration met with the Nobel prize winner of in Chemistry (1987), Professor Jean-Marie Lehn, in presence of UFAZ Coordinator and Dean of the Chemistry faculty, Jean-Marc Planeix.

Jean-Marie Lehn is presently Professor at the University of Strasbourg Institute for Advanced Study (USIAS). He shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1987 for his studies on “molecular recognition". 

His work led him to define a new field, “supramolecular chemistry”, dealing with the assemblies of chemical species.

Author of over 950 publications, Pr. Lehn is member of many institutions and received numerous international honors and awards.
