On September 15, on the occasion of  the International Coastal Clean-up day, the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and EkoSfera Social and Ecological Centre, mobilized staff of the Embassies of the European Union Member-States and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development for a collective beach cleaning campaign.  

Furthermore staff and students of the French-Azerbaijani University as well as participants of the “Young European Neighbours” network and former alumni of the EuroSchools also joined the initiative.  

The International Coastal Cleaning Day took place on the Novkhani beach. The main purpose of the event is to promote coastal cleaning, to prevent coastal pollution and to involve volunteers and especially youth to take better care for marine environment.

UFAZ students greatly appreciated this collective initiative significance that advocates environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.
