UFAZ Academic Committee held its online meeting

On November 17 2020 UFAZ Scientific Committee held its online meeting at the French-Azerbaijani University.

Due to the newly established Master’s Programs and research within those programs, starting from the 2020/2021 academic year, the Scientific Committee was renamed the Academic Committee. 

Co-chaired by UFAZ Scientific Expert, Unistra Vice-President for International Relations and Research Prof. Philippe Turek and ASOIU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Gasim Mammadov, the meeting attended by Deputy Chief of Staff of Ministry of Education, Yagub Piriyev, Unistra Undergraduate Program Coordinator responsible from Geophysical Engineering Alessia Maggi, Project Officer Florent Beaulieu, Renn 1 University Undergraduate Program Coordinator responsible from Petroleum Engineering Françoise Le Guen, Graduate Program Coordinator responsible from Geosciences Cécile Robin, UFAZ Director, Vazeh Askerov, Secretary General Elizaveta Bydanova and Head of the Education Department Latifa Nasibova.

The Committee discussed the impact of the current pandemic on the 2020/2021 academic year and its teaching process - the organization of online courses and exams, new admission to the Master’s Programs, the commencement of Master's programs and research, as well as the non-academic issues related to the education process. 

The committee also discussed the preparation of a general strategic development plan of the university for both bachelor's and master's degrees in the coming academic year, taking into account the possible continuity of distance education.

To recall,  the UFAZ Academic Committee is the executive body responsible for the study of science, education and scientific issues.

The Committee meets twice a year in Baku and Strasbourg to discuss administrative issues related to all pedagogical and academic activities.
