From March 25-29, 2019, 7 UFAZ faculty members left for a special academic training organized, hosted and financed thanks to the University of Strasbourg.

This is the second year that Unistra gives such a possibility to UFAZ pedagogical staff.

During their training at Strasbourg University, UFAZ teachers had the opportunity to meet and exchange with their Unistra colleagues, in order to work together on the pedagogical approach and the scientific content of their lectures at UFAZ. They also spent some time in the scientific laboratories of Unistra, since great importance is given to practical works in laboratories at Unistra and thus at UFAZ.

Another part of their the program included active observation during lectures and practical works are given by Unistra colleagues in different fields (experimental chemistry, mathematical modeling, analytical chemistry…etc.).

UFAZ teachers also undertook two special training session delivered by IDIP (the Institute for pedagogical development and innovation of Strasbourg University) as well as a session about Tools for pedagogical practice & distance learning (implemented at UFAZ since March 2019 in Computer Science and Geosciences).

This week of training is meant for UFAZ Professors to further their understanding of the French Higher Education System and the teaching methods in Strasbourg University, which in return positively influences overall education at UFAZ.

This week helped UFAZ teachers acquiring new learning tools for modern pedagogy and widening their existing skills about the Research applicable in scientific education.

Upon their return in Baku, Rector of ASOIU, Mustafa Babanli underlined the particular significance and importance of such exchange in developing cooperation in education between two universities. UFAZ Faculty members openly shared with the Rector their impression on pedagogy, teaching methodology and environment at University of Strasbourg:

“At the University of Strasbourg, every step is meant to engage and motivate students education, as in the world, including in Azerbaijan. In this regard, we took part in various training. We closely observed students’ attendance in the lectures. The most inspiring part was the attendance of Unistra students at the class all-prepared.
