On March 13 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held Novruz festivity dedicated to Novruz holiday and third Tuesday (there are four Festive Tuesdays in Novruz: Water, Fire, Wind and Earth Tuesday). ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, academic staff members and students of the university took part in the ceremony.

At the holiday celebration organized in the university yard by the Student Trade Union Committee, students from each faculty presented creative Novruz khonchas and holiday pastries featuring national customs and traditions.

There was also the UFAZ stand with the students in national costumes welcoming the guests with Novruz sweets!

Opening the event, Rector, Professor Babanli extended his congratulations to everyone on the occasion of Novruz holiday. Rector Babanli said Novruz, that contains the national customs and traditions of our people, is one of the oldest holidays. He also spoke about the historic significance of this holiday. In the end, Rector Babanli congratulated the staff once again on the arrival of Novruz and conveyed his best wishes.

The holiday celebration aroused great interest in students with performances of ASOIU song and dance ensemble “Ganjlik”, as well as renowned singers, and interesting small scenes played by famous characters of Novruz holiday Kosa and Kechal.
