New academic year has started at UFAZ

On September 13, a new academic year for both master's and bachelor's degrees has started at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) operating under the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

The start of classes earlier than at other universities of the country was made in accordance with the recent decision of the Steering Committee of UFAZ. According to the new rules, classes will be held offline.

In the autumn semester of 2021/2022, in addition to local teachers, permanent foreign teachers of UFAZ and invited professors and teachers from the University of Strasbourg and Rennes 1 will also conduct classes offline. There are 7 French teachers at UFAZ on a permanent basis.

A total of 710 students (576 undergraduate and 134 master's) are studying at the French-Azerbaijani University, which is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. 141 people study in the 1st year of bachelor's degree, 147 people in the 2nd year, 149 people in the 3rd year, 139 people in the 4th year, 79 people study in the 1st year of master's degree and 55 people study in the 2nd year.

The educational process was organized in full accordance with the rules of the pandemic. The distance between students was observed in all classrooms. Wearing a protective mask is a mandatory. Disinfectants were placed in the rooms and corridors. Students over the age of 18 are admitted to the university with at least the first dose of vaccine or an immune certificate.

UFAZ graduates receive diplomas from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, as well as the Universities of Strasbourg and Rennes 1 in France.
