UFAZ Coordinator of Geophysics Program Professor Alessia Maggi is back at UFAZ, teaching second-year Geophysical engineering students.

Alessia Maggi is a professor of Seismology and the vice-rector of EOST (École Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre) at the University of Strasbourg. We interviewed Alessia again to ask about her impressions of this visit and overall opinion about her classes at UFAZ.

"What I like about students here is that they do not hesitate to ask as many questions as possible. This shows that they are truly engaged in class and are interested to improve their knowledge. As a professor, I am really happy to see their will to learn from me everything that is left unclear to them." As all other invited professors from France visiting UFAZ, Alessia Maggi is staying here a week from - April 30 to May 5. She will be back next semester!

As part of her mission at UFAZ, she visited the Mineralogy Museum of ASOIU and some private companies in Azerbaijan in order to talk about future internship possibilities for the UFAZ students. She noted that the meetings with local and international companies in Baku were successful and some have offered their help as guest lecturers at UFAZ.
