Here at French-Azerbaijani University, diversity and multiculturalism is also one of our core values, and we are proud to host students and teachers from all around the world!

This year we welcomed Teimur Alkhazov, an international student from Kazakhstan, as a new member of UFAZ’s growing international community.

We are sharing below a short information about Teimur, first-year Geophysical-Geoscience Engineering student:

Born in Aktau city, Kazakhstan, Teimur has been actively involved with sports from childhood, specifically karate-dō ever since he was 5 years old. He took part in various tournaments and championships in both in regional and international level. Among many others, he won two gold medals in the world championship organized in Las Vegas, USA in 2012. As a part of his future extracurricular endeavors, Teimur, thus, is planning to create martial arts club at UFAZ and share his experience with other fellow students, such as the ones willing last year to learn self-defense techniques!

Teimur is also interested in computer hardware from his childhood and he hopes studying in a scientific university could enhance his knowledge on that sphere as well.

Since the majority of his family relatives live here, Teimur has been visiting Baku for a long time. He loves the combination of historic and modern architecture and his favorite place in Baku is Old Town where he can sense the very spirit and history of surroundings. Despite some cultural differences that exist between Kazakh and Azerbaijani people, Teimur finds Azerbaijanis to be kind and friendly.

Teimur says, “studying at different educational system is pretty unique experience and classes at UFAZ are pretty interesting and unusual!”.
