Geological Fieldwork kicked off for 4th year Geophysical Engineering students
From October 17, UFAZ last year bachelor students in Geophysical engineering began a full week geological fieldwork starting with Perikeshkul section, they will travel around Baku area to Khizi, Kirmaki and Yasamal valley. The objective of the field trip is to apply their theoretical knowledge with hands-on applications. The supervising teachers are Quentin Boesch from the University of Strasbourg, Nigar Karimova and Clara Jodry coordinators of the bachelor and master of the Earth Sciences programs at UFAZ.
On this trip, students will learn to differentiate the type of rocks, identify sedimentary figures and geological structures to then reconstruct the geological history of the area. This work is essential to understand how geo resources are generated and where they can be found.
