On May 27 2018, on the occasion of his visit to Baku, as part of the South Caucasus trip and in view of the centenary of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic has paid a visit to the French-Azerbaijani University.

Together with the Minister of Education of Azerbaijan, Mr. Jeyhun Bayramov, the French Minister visited an exhibition of archives from the fund of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs on the First Republic of Azerbaijan in presence of the Presidents of the universities of Strasbourg and Rennes 1, the President of the National Center for Space Studies (CNES) Jean-Yves Le Gall, the President of Airbus DS France Nicolas Chamussy and the President of Azercosmos Rashad Nabiyev.

Following the exhibition, the ministers witnessed the signing of two Memoranda of Cooperation between UFAZ and the companies Thales, Baku Metropolitan and Schneider Electric. The two ministers also met a group of students from the University.

Addressing the students, Mr Le Drian said that French-Azerbaijani University is a symbol of successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and France. Mr Bayramov has also underlined the important role of UFAZ in the development of education of Azerbaijan and stressed that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev pays careful attention to everything that concerns improvement of education in our country.
