Francophonie Week at UFAZ

From April 10th to 14th, the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) will host Francophonie Week, featuring a range of events to celebrate the French language and culture.
As part of the “100-year anniversary of Heydar Aliyev", a conference entitled "Heydar Aliyev: Azerbaijan-France Relations" will be held on the first day of the week, April 10th. The conference will be presented by Novruz Mammadov, Former Prime Minister and Head of the International Relations Department at the Presidential Administration from 1997 to 2017. N. Mammadov will share his memories about the role of the national leader in the development of bilateral relations. The event will take place at 16:30 in the main conference hall of UFAZ and is open to the public.
On April 12th, the French documentary "Bigger Than Us" by director Flore Vasseur will be screened, depicting the challenges of climate change, inequality, poverty, war, and immigration, and providing hope through the image of young heroes in the film. Afterwards, there will be a discussion led by Marie-Claire Pierret, Professor at the University of Strasbourg and Director of the Hydro-Geochemical Environment Observatory. The session will start at 16:00 and is open to all interested attendees.
As per tradition, UFAZ students will present a music program on April 13th at 17:00, performing French music in the Rotunda Hall of Landmark. The program is open to all French music enthusiasts.
The Francophonie Week will be concluded with the play - "Monsieur Jordan and Monsieur Jourdain" based on the theatrical works of Jean-Baptiste Molière and Mirza Fatali Akhundov. The performance, featuring UFAZ students, will be directed by Lucie Philip, a French professor who worked at UFAZ. The play will be presented on April 14th at 17:30 in the Rotunda Hall of Landmark and is open to the public.

All events are open to anyone interested in French language and culture, and attendees are encouraged to come and participate in the celebration of Francophonie Week at UFAZ.
