Forty students of UFAZ that went to Strasbourg for two weeks of education and fun are now back in Baku!
The program, organised by Strasbourg University exclusively for UFAZ students, includes intensive French courses and conversation clubs, chemistry lab sessions at the Chemistry Department of the University of Strasbourg, visits to historical and cultural places such as Historical and Seismology Museums as well as field trip to the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. Moreover, each year, the Unistra President Michel Deneken visits one of the classes and closely communicates with students of UFAZ.
This year we have shared “live diary notes” with our followers called “My Strasbourg Diary” as a short summary of the student’s each day in Strasbourg. The 2018 FIFA World Cup has added special emotions to the diary and colored all into the winning team’s blue, white and red colors! Every day students had time in the afternoon to explore the city of Strasbourg, and make their own unforgettable memories. Here are some of them:
Emin Soltanov, Computer Science, L1 (year 2)
“I love to explore new countries with different cultures and history, visit their museums and start to better understand people that live there. This year my dream of visiting the European capital has become a reality thanks to UFAZ.”
Aydan Hasanova, Geophysical Engineering, L0 (year 1)
“Those feelings and emotions that I experienced during the trip are difficult to describe with words. Even though I have just recently started learning French, getting a chance to practice it already with native speakers doubled my joy from these two weeks in Strasbourg! Incredible architecture and colorful houses, street musicians and flavours of unique French perfumes on the narrow streets – all left a huge mark in my memory! I wish everyone can visit Strasbourg once in the lifetime and see and feel it all first-hand!”
Rahim Alizade, Chemical Engineering, L1 (year 2)
“Summer school was a great opportunity for me to discover the capital of Europe and get insights into the political aspects of the city while our visits to the Council of Europe and European Parliament. Also, finally getting a chance to see one of the biggest laboratories in France and getting to know the University of Strasbourg researchers and scientists of cutting edge has been inspirational and motivated us about our future studies and career path.”
