EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services Senior Farah Mammadli and Staff Assistant Sheida Karimova delivering a lecture to UFAZ students
On November 25, 2019, EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services Senior Farah Mammadli and Staff Assistant Sheida Karimova delivered a lecture to UFAZ fourth-year Geosciences Engineering and Computer science students on sustainable development in ecological and economic perspectives.
Stressing the significance of global climate change, Mrs. Mammadli noted that this issue may negatively affect in future the perspectives of young generation.
Mrs. Mammadli also provided insights on evaluation criteria for social responsibility evolution in society, ecological balance of natural resources extraction and sustainable operation that are factors affecting economic development. To illustrate linear economy limitations and benefits of the circular economy, she provided global statistical data.
UFAZ students actively participated in debates focused on modern societal problems and sustainable operational issues, including the issues that can rise from active production of mineral resources, non-economical refinery processing and hazardous disposal of wastes.
Event wrapped up with EY representatives sharing their contact details with students and encouraging them to send their resume for further collaboration.
EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transactions and advisory services and it is operating in Azerbaijan since 1994.
To recall, UFAZ established a collaboration with Ernst & Young's Climate Change Sustainability Services Team in October, 2019.
Students with the best initiative will have a chance to work on the University's sustainability report together with EY as well as get a chance to go through an internship at the Sustainability department of EY Azerbaijan.
