Cooperation agreement signed at UFAZ between the French Embassy, ASOIU and the University of Strasbourg
On April 21, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, the University of Strasbourg and the French Embassy signed a cooperation agreement at the French-Azerbaijan University to provide scholarships to doctoral students from the French government.
The document was signed by the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zacharie Gross, President of the University of Strasbourg Michel Deneken and ASOIU Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli.
Welcoming the guests, UFAZ Executive Director Vazeh Asgarov and Secretary General Elizaveta Bydanova noted that the agreement was a new beginning for the university.
Speaking at the ceremony, Zacharie Gross noted that the document would open new opportunities for UFAZ students and in research field between Azerbaijan and France. "It is very important for Azerbaijan to expand its research capabilities, and we are very proud to contribute to this work," the ambassador said.
Professor Philip Turek, Head of UFAZ's Research Department, said the agreement was an important start for UFAZ students to study for a doctorate under the joint leadership of ASOIU and the University of Strasbourg. "Students will have the opportunity to conduct research in both countries by studying for a doctorate." He thanked the ASOIU Rector and the French Embassy for their support.
