Graduation Day at the French-Azerbaijan University
On July 16, 2021, Graduation Day was held at the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), which is operating under the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
The event was attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev, Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli, Executive Director of UFAZ Vazeh Askerov, heads of partner companies, faculty and alumni of the university.
In the beginning of the event, the Azerbaijani National Anthem was played and the souls of our martyrs of the Great Patriotic War were commemorated with a minute of silence.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev said that UFAZ was established on the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan and has been operating as a pilot project since 2016. He noted that the establishment of such an educational institution under ASOIU was not accidental, adding that the university, which celebrated its 100th anniversary, has left a great mark on the history of the country. Noting that the educational performance of students at UFAZ is higher than the general performance of similar specialties, the Minister said that this is an indicator of correct and quality work. Mr. Emin Amrullayev noted that the graduates could make a great contribution to the restoration and development of the liberated territories and wished them success in their future careers.
Rector of ASOIU, Prof. Mustafa Babanli said in his speech that 125 people graduated from UFAZ last year and 113 this year. Last year, for the first time, master's degree education began at UFAZ. 44 of this year's UFAZ graduates have been admitted to the university's master's degree. Mustafa Babanli noted that education at UFAZ is secular. “Our main goal is for Azerbaijani youth to receive the education provided by leading European universities here without leaving the country. ASOIU, in turn, does its best to ensure the quality of this education" said Prof. Babanli. The rector congratulated the parents and wished success to the graduates.
Executive Director of UFAZ, Vazeh Askerov, thanked Rector of ASOIU, Prof. Mustafa Babanli, for his support to UFAZ. Vazeh Askerov also noted that 14 of UFAZ's graduates this year have been admitted to the world's leading universities.
Deputy Chairman of Azercosmos Dunay Badirkhanov, speaking about cooperation with UFAZ, stressed the active participation of UFAZ students in a number of competitions and international events. He said it was no coincidence that one of the participants in the launch of Azerbaijan's third satellite was a UFAZ student.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Fidan Karimova thanked the teachers and professors.
After the official part of the event, the graduates were awarded. First, the graduates with the highest results were presented with special gifts. Then, all the graduates were awarded with a Certificate of Completion.
At the end of the event, UFAZ student Aysu Mammadova sang several songs for the participants, and the students took photos with the official guests.
