Please present yourself and give a brief description of your background?

I have received an engineering degree in Communications and electronics from Beirut University in 2014, a M.S degree in Networks and systems engineering from Versailles University in 2015 and a Ph.D. in Networks Analysis and Computer Science in 2018 from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse. From 2015 to 2018, I was with IRIT and LPT laboratories, participating in the GOMOBILE, APPLIGOOGLE and MACACO projects while working towards my Ph.D. thesis. In September 2016, I joined the ENSEEIHT, France, as a lecturer. I joined INP then BAU for the academic years 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 as an assistant professor. Actually, with Strasbourg University, I am the Pedagogical Responsible for the UFAZ Computer science department. My academic research focuses on reduced Google matrix analysis on Big Data as Wikipedia, Twitter and genetic networks.

What was your first impression on Baku city?

This was the first time I visited Baku. When I got the job offer, I spent a lot of time reading more about the city, its nature, weather, culture, urbanism. I decided to accept the challenge and to come with my wife to Baku. We arrived at Baku airport and we saw a well-structured and organized airport. We took the taxi to the city, and we were surprised how wide the highways are. Then, day after day, we figure out a lot of interesting realities about Baku: how kind are the citizens, public gardens are everywhere, the city is so clean, food is very tasty and much more surprising and positively reflecting facts. We found ourselves in Baku.

What was your first impression after the first session with UFAZ students?

UFAZ is one of the most promising universities I have ever seen in my limited life. Managers, Staffs, Professors and each member they are working all together to make UFAZ first ranked in Azerbaijan. I find myself within a family that can do anything to excel at work.

In such an environment, I did my first teaching session. Unfortunately, my first session was an online session, and there were a lot of factors that can break students' learning process: bad and limited internet connection, war in Karabakh and COVID 19 epidemic. Even with those obstacles, it was still interesting how students are trying to focus on their goals, to ask questions, to send back emails and feedback.

What is your advice to each UFAZ student?

I say to UFAZ students, build up your CV, focus on your university study, follow any interesting online course and search for any valuable information. You are in the golden time of your life, don’t waste any single moment, time will never get back.

On the other hand, keep in mind that you should be an added value to your country, society, community, family: Build up your personality with volunteer acts. You are the one who will make the future of your country, so please, armed with faith, make it better and better.

According to your opinion What are the opportunities that a French education system presents for UFAZ students?

Strasbourg University is a leading French university that follows the “teaching by doing” concept. We are here to maintain this way of teaching at UFAZ. A “Learning by Doing” will help students to gain solid knowledge and to master their field of study. Another key point is “algorithmic thinking”, that will change the way UFAZ students are approaching any problem. Thanks to this, UFAZ students will have strategic positions in their future. UFAZ students will be also a target for reputable companies and Labs to work with them and to handle important tasks and get higher positions. At last but not least, our students will be familiar with any new technology in their field as a result of practicing and understanding its topology and roots.
