On May 24 2018, UFAZ organised ActInSpace press conference with participation of sponsors and partners of AIS2018 Azerbaijan. The speakers at the conference were the Ambassador of France in Azerbaijan - Aurelia Bouchez, the CEO of Bakcell Nikolai Beckers, the CEO of IT Step Academy Aleksey Sleptsov and the financial director of Aikon Construction Nadir Aliyev. The University of Strasbourg was represented by the Dean of the Chemistry faculty, scientific expert of UFAZ, Professor Jean-Marc Planeix.

During the conference, HE Aurlia Bouchez stressed the importance of youth and their participation in the enhancement and development of relations between Azerbaijan and France. Taking into account that this is the first time that Azerbaijan participates in the ActInSpace contest, the Embassy of France is playing a vital role as one of the main sponsors of the event. CEO of Bakcell Nikolai Beckers fnoted that from their side, Bakcell is always ready to support the young talents and their initiatives as well as everything that concerns education and its development and improvement in Azerbaijan.

The CEO of the IT Step Academy, Mr Sleptsov confirmed that his Academy is very proud to be playing role in such competitions where the IT ideas of future are being discussed and developed leading coaches and experts from the IT companies of Azerbaijan. He also highlighted that cosmic technologies are part of our daily lives and that we should not underestimate their role in the future. 

The participating student teams in ActInSpace represent National Aviation Academy, Baku Higher Oil School, ADA University, UFAZ, Azerbaijan Technical University, Baku Engineering University. There will be 105 students and 24 teams to spend 24 hoursat UFAZ as part of the AIS 2018 Hackathon, Azerbaijan.
