On January 15, 2020, the Embassy of France in Azerbaijan concluded a bilateral MoU with Total E&P Absheron to enhance collaboration and support educational and joint scientific projects, strengthening the ties between the academic and business worlds. The MoU signed with Total E&P Absheron, for the first time in Caucasus region, will amongst others enable UFAZ students to benefit from fully funded scholarships for Master studies in France starting from September 2020. 

To study in France at master’s level, within the framework of MoU between TOTAL and French Embassy, on February 12, 41 UFAZ students competed in the first stage of examination. The exam was meant for UFAZ students only. 10 UFAZ students, who also passed the interview stage, were awarded with scholarships provided by TOTAL for the best students in the engineering sector from all over the world.

To recall, active in more than 130 countries all over the world, TOTAL started its operations in Azerbaijan in 1996, primarily in exploration and production and the marketing of lubricants. The company also leads community outreach initiatives in the country, with a focus on education and training.

TOTAL, that supports and promotes young talents in various fields in the countries it operates, has also provided many opportunities for UFAZ students. Since 2018 TOTAL has been providing UFAZ with experienced lecturers in the field of Oil and Gas through TOTAL Professeurs Associés.
