About the Lecture:

"A magnetic gaze... Magnetism is believed to encompass psychic forces. The physical phenomena inherent to magnetic properties have been described since Antiquity. They were quite likely observed since earlier times.

This talk will show that the magnetic properties are well understood by the physical laws. We will describe how to generate magnetic fields. A key issue is the understanding of the behavior of a magnet so as exploit its properties.

Some molecules and molecular assemblies do behave as magnetic materials. Selected examples will be given. Are these materials of the future?... From Stone Age to nowadays nanoworld, magnetism is always present."
